Upon arrival at Kochi airport or railway station, you will be greeted and driven to the beautiful hill station of Munnar, once the summer capital of the British in India. The journey itself is scenic, with stops at the captivating Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely evening exploring a photo point, rose garden, and a pleasant city walk before settling in for your overnight stay.
After breakfast, your day is dedicated to exploring Munnar's treasures. Visit the unique Eravikulam National Park, a wildlife sanctuary nestled amidst sprawling tea plantations offering magnificent views. In the afternoon, proceed to Echo Point and the impressive Mattupetty Dam, where boating facilities are available. A visit to a local tea factory provides insight into the region's prime product before you return to your hotel for the night.
After breakfast, you will travel to Thekkady. The highlight of the day is a boating experience on Periyar Lake, the core of the wildlife sanctuary, offering a unique opportunity to view wildlife from close quarters. You can also enjoy a plantation tour to see spices like cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon being cultivated. Overnight stay will be in Thekkady.
Today, you journey to Alleppey, the heart of Kerala's backwaters. By noon, you will check in to your houseboat or hotel. If opting for the houseboat stay, you'll embark on a mesmerizing cruise through intricate waterways, witnessing local life and stunning scenery, with meals included on board. If staying at a hotel, you will enjoy a full-day backwater cruise or an hourly Shikara boat ride.
After breakfast and checkout from Alleppey, you will drive to Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). Here, you will visit the majestic Padmanabha Temple, the city zoo, and the Kanakakunnu Palace. After sightseeing, you will proceed to the coastal town of Kovalam for your overnight stay.
Day 6 :
Sun, Sand, and Sea in Kovalam
After breakfast, spend the day exploring the charms of Kovalam. Relax on its famous palm-backed beaches, including Hawah Beach and Samudra Beach. Visit the towering Vizhinjam Lighthouse, the Vizhinjam Juma Masjid mosque overlooking the fishing harbor, and a local museum. The day concludes with a beautiful sunset view over the Arabian Sea.
Day 7 :
Departure from Trivandrum
